Having worked for large international companies such as Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC), Sedgwick and Crawfords & Company, Sebastiaan has extensive knowledge and experience in both forensic accounting and loss adjusting.
Sebastiaan is a qualified CPA and also holds an LLB qualification since 2002.
Sebastiaan started his career in South Africa working for PWC and then moved to Australia in 2008 under transfer from PWC.
In 2009, Sebastiaan took up a role at Crawford & Company to become solely involved in insurance loss adjusting. He has worked in the insurance industry since 2009 and has dealt with a wide range of claims involving Business Interruption, large Stock losses, Tax Audit, Fidelity Guarantee and Product Recall.
Sebastiaan has been involved in most of the catastrophic insurance events that occurred in Australia since 2010: Queensland floods (2011), Cyclone Yasi (2012), Tasmanian Bushfires (2013), Brisbane hail storm (2014), Cyclone Debbie (2017) and Australian bushfires (2019/20). He has worked across a multitude of industries including Hospitality, Manufacturing, Food Retailing to name a few.
Sebastiaan is focused on all aspects of assisting businesses with the preparation of their claims. This fits in exactly with YourClaim’s business model and he is a welcomed addition to the team to represent YourClaim on the Eastern Seaboard of Australia.
Personally, Sebastiaan enjoys rugby union and is closely involved in the parents’ Rugby Supporters’ Group of the school that his two teenage sons attend. He spends most of his free time either watching school and/or professional sports. His team loyalty is still a bit divided between the Wallabies and the Springboks.
